I was diagnosed with ALS October 1, 2013 and already ALS has infiltrated my life and started to redecorate. I went from working 80 hour weeks to going on disability and social security. My kickball leagues have been replaced with physical therapy, and my high heels traded in for practical flats. Unfortunately, this is just the beginning because eventually ALS will rob me of all my independence.

Therefore, I have decided to assert the only control I have over this terrible disease and that is to raise
money for research and effective therapies. By donating to the ALS Therapy Development Insitute (ALS TDI)  86 cents of every dollar goes directly to ALS research.

As an ambassador for the Young Faces of ALS and working with ALS TDI I have been lucky enough to help spread awareness by sharing my story through social media. Bet on Beth is where my family, friends and supporters can come and put their money where their mouth is and helps us in our efforts to strike out ALS once and for all!

"I have ALS. I'm sharing all my experiences like trips to Las Vegas and Octoberfest in Germany with my friends and family. Without them I am nothing. Give generously. Now, give again...www.als.net. Let's end ALS together!"
-Beth Hebron

"
In September 2013, I waited in my office for a call...seemed like an eternity. Finally, my cell phone rang. My daughter Beth, age 26, was given the diagnosis we feared the most: ALS. That evening I spent the worst night of my life, following the worst day of my life. BUT there is hope. www.als.net is the largest non-profit biotech with 100% of their focus to end ALS, 24/7."
-Beth's Dad, Bob Hebron

About ALS: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as "Lou Gehrig’s Disease," is a fatal neurodegenerative disease for which there is currently no known cause or cure. ALS attacks cells in the brain and spinal cord, causing muscle weakness, paralysis, and ultimately, respiratory failure and death. Someone is diagnosed with ALS every 90 minutes, and the disease can strike anyone, anywhere, at any age. Although most cases of ALS are sporadic, approximately 10% of ALS diagnoses are genetic.

About ALS TDI: ALS TDI is the No. 1 ALS research lab in the world and has one urgent goal: to end ALS. TDI envisions a future where patients no longer die from ALS, and where today’s patients are alive, well, and enjoying the company of their families. TDI is committed to creating and leading a transparent and collaborative research process that involves ALS patients today and honors those whose journey with the disease has ended. TDI is guided by passion, love, and the spirit of entrepreneurship upon which the organization was founded.
